DAY Helen Ormsby of St Petersburg, 95 years young passed away on Monday, February 9, 2004. She moved to Largo from Pierpont, Ohio in 1926 and was in the first graduating class at St Petersburg High (1927) at its present location, and in 1929 graduated from St Petersburg College in their first graduating class. Mom was very proud of her teaching career and the 33 years of positive influence for her students at Norwood, Clear-view, Pinellas Park and Mt Vernon Elementary, retiring in 1970. In 1933, Mom married J. Warren Day, Jr.

and they had two sons, John W. Day, III and Alan Dennis Day. The family residence was 41 10 8th Avenue North, and relatives fondly remember her love of games and She was a teacher at Norwood, Clear-view and Pinellas Park elementary schools and retired from Mount Vernon Elementary School in 1970. She was a 1927 graduate of St Petersburg High School and graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College in 1929.

She was a member of the Pinellas Pioneers, Retired Teachers Association and St Luke's Methodist Church and was a life member of the St Petersburg Little Theatre. Survivors include two sons, John W. She was also a member of St Luke's Methodist Church, the Pinellas Pioneers, Retired Teachers Association and a 5 gallon blood donor for the Florida Blood Services. Other family members include her daughters-in-law: Sally S. Day and Lynne D. Day; brothers Don and Robert; and grandchildren: Christopher, Brian, and Marquita.
