(JP) The cargo-liner SS Zoella Lykes was launched today as a replacement vessel in Lykes Brothers Steamship extensive building program. The C4 type freighter was christened at Ingalls Ship building Corp. yards by Mrs. Charles P. Lykes, Tampa, wife of a Lykes director.

Her matron of honor was Mrs. Julia M. Bowler, Lynchburg, Virginia. The 495-foot vessel is the third of five of its type being built for Lykes by Ingalls under a $48,180,335 contract. All are to go into service during 1960 on the firm's trade routes from Gulf Coast ports.

The new ship is part of a 53-ship replacement program by Lykes. The Maritime Administration Gulf Coast Director, Capt. Thomas A. King, was scheduled to make the principal address but family illness kept him from coming from New Orleans. However, his speech was read by the agency's Pascagoula representative, E.

P. Rowell. King's speech pointed out that the vessel will replace the present Zoella Lykes, built in 1940 and scheduled to go into a government reserve fleet. WIFE OF TOUHY'S BODYGUARD DIES CHICAGO, Jan. 23.

(VP) Injuries mysteriously suffered caused the death today of Mrs. Genevieve Miller, the wife of former police Sergeant Walter J. Miller who was shot and wounded in the Roger Touhy ambush-assassination Dec. 16. Miller, a bodyguard for Touhy, convicted kidnaper of John (Jake the Barber) Factor, and gangster of the 1930s, had told police he believed his wife had been beaten by the same men who killed Touhy.

Mrs. Miller, 54, had remained in a coma since the night of Jan. 10 when she was found by her son, Walter, lying unconscious on the floor of the kitchen of her locked West Side apartment. Her skull had been fractured and she had suffered multiple bruises. A Loretto Hospital spokesman, where Mrs.

Miller had been a patient, said it was possible she suffered the injuries in a fall after a stroke. Miller, who was hiding out on Jan. 10 because of fears he would be waylaid again by Touhy's killers, had asked the younger Miller to investigate after he was unable to reach his wife by telephone- Drowning Victim The body of a 52-year-old Negro, previously reported missing, was found floating in the Hillsborough River near the Fortune St. Bridge, city police said.
